Komori Group CSR Procurement Guidelines

Introduction
Komori aims to solve social problems and contribute to a sustainable society in accordance with our management philosophy. To achieve this goal, the "Komori Group CSR Procurement Guidelines" for the purchase of products and services have been formulated in line with the "Komori Group Charter of Corporate Behaviour." These guidelines have an important role to play in our social responsibility.
Cooperating companies are asked to understand the main purpose of the guidelines, and to act and put them into practice accordingly. We will continue to work towards realizing social responsibility throughout our supply chain. We sincerely hope that you will continue to cooperate with us.

CSR Procurement Guidelines

  1. 1.Compliance with laws and regulations, and respect for international norms
    1. 1.1 Recognizing that compliance with laws and regulations, and adherence to corporate ethics, are the basis for conducting business, comply with laws, regulations, and corporate ethics in all aspects of business activities and carry out business with integrity.
    2. 1.2 Conduct appropriate corporate activities in compliance with the laws and regulations of each country and region. For some laws and regulations, consider when they apply outside the region as well as in the home country.
  2. 2.Respect for human rights
    1. 2.1 Do not discriminate or violate human rights on any grounds whatsoever, including nationality, race, age, gender, religion, political beliefs, or ideological convictions.
    2. 2.2 Do not use labour obtained through forced, bonded, or inhumane prison labor, slavery or people trafficking.
    3. 2.3 Do not allow children under the minimum working age to work. In addition, employees under the age of 18 should not be engaged in hazardous work, such as night shifts or overtime work, where their health and safety may be compromised.
    4. 2.4 Respect the human rights of employees and do not treat employees inhumanely, including mental and physical abuse, coercion, and harassment, as well as any actions that may lead to such treatment.
    5. 2.5 Do not make employees work beyond the limits set by the laws and regulations of the region in which they work.
    6. 2.6 Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the remuneration paid to employees (including minimum wages, overtime pay, and legally mandated benefits and wage deductions).
    7. 2.7 Promote responsible procurement activities to avoid procurement of parts and materials that contain conflict minerals, such as 3TG (tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold) and cobalt, which may be involved in serious human rights abuses, environmental destruction, corruption, and conflicts in disputed and high risk areas.
  3. 3.Safety and hygiene
    1. 3.1 Identify risks to safety on the job and take the appropriate action.
    2. 3.2 Provide the appropriate health care to all employees.
  4. 4.Environmental protection and conservation
    1. 4.1 Establish a management system for the environment, promote environmental initiatives, and strive to continuously improve said initiatives.
    2. 4.2 Work to improve energy efficiency and engage in activities to continuously reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
    3. 4.3 Comply with environmental laws (such as the Air Pollution Control Act and the Water Pollution Prevention Act) that set environmental standards and implement controls and countermeasures for emissions of hazardous substances into the atmosphere and water pollution.
    4. 4.4 Promote reduce, reuse and recycle (recycling) by complying with environmental laws and by carrying out the appropriate management to ensure effective use of resources and minimize the generation of waste.
    5. 4.5 Be aware of chemical substances management by complying with the Chemical Substances Control Law, the Chemical Management (Pollutant Release and Transfer Register), and the Industrial Safety and Health Act (including the Ordinance on Prevention of Organic Solvent Poisoning, the Ordinance on Prevention of Hazards Due to Specified Chemical Substances, and the Carcinogenic Guidelines, and be mindful of the health of users and consumers of products.
    6. 4.6 In accordance with the "Komori Green Procurement Guidelines," strive to ascertain whether the substances listed in the "Komori List of Controlled Chemical Substances" are contained in supplied products and the amounts contained.
  5. 5.Fair trade
    1. 5.1 Do not engage in corrupt practices of any kind, including bribery, extortion, and embezzlement.
    2. 5.2 Do not give or receive entertainment, gifts, or presents for the purpose of obtaining bribes or other improper benefits.
    3. 5.3 Recognize the importance of fair and free competition in the market, comply with the Act on Prohibition of Private Monopolization and Maintenance of Fair Trade, and other relevant laws and regulations, and refrain from unjust restraint of trade and unfair trading.
    4. 5.4 Maintain equal, fair, and transparent business relations with all business partners on the basis of open business relations.
    5. 5.5 In advertising and publicity activities, efforts should be made to correctly communicate product features and other information, and not to use expressions or labels that may mislead as to performance, quality, or price.
    6. 5.6 From the perspective of international fair trade and maintaining peace and security, comply with the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act and other relevant domestic and foreign laws and regulations in the import and export transactions of products, parts, technology, and services.
    7. 5.7 Do not acquire or use third-party trade secrets through unauthorized means.
    8. 5.8 Respect the intellectual property rights of others and do not acquire or use them in an unauthorized manner.
  6. 6.Product safety and quality
    1. 6.1 Strive to provide safe and superior quality products, technologies, and services.
    2. 6.2 Establish an appropriate management system and comply with its quality standards and customer requirements by complying with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and criteria regarding the safety and quality of products and services.
    3. 6.3 When a safety or quality issue is detected, the relevant departments shall work together to solve the issue and prevent its spread.
  7. 7.Information security
    1. 7.1 Manage all confidential information (including personal data) properly in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and rules.
    2. 7.2 To ensure that electronic information is not leaked, stolen, or tampered with by third parties, properly manage the data in compliance with laws, regulations, and rules.
