Satoshi Mochida - President and Representative Director, Komori Corporation
Best wishes for the New Year.
In 2018, Komori conducted displays and demonstrations that shifted thinking from 'how to make' to 'what to create' based on the theme Innovate to Create in the largest booth of exhibitors at IGAS 2018, held at Tokyo Big Sight in July. In the booth, new concepts were presented, including support for IoT in printing companies with KP-Connect Pro, Connected Automation that raises production efficiency to the utmost limits, and new offset technologies like Autopilot and Parallel Makeready, making every day a roaring success. In addition, a wide range of solutions were proposed at various events internationally.
Komori has been engaged in transforming our business structure in order to become a PESP (Print Engineering Service Provider) offering total service. New development is being accelerated as we approach our centennial anniversary in 2023.
In the offset printing press business, a new eight-color Lithrone G37P perfector has been added to the lineup of the Lithrone G37 series 37-inch offset printing presses. In the future, Komori will undertake further development of laborsaving and inspection systems for commercial and package printing.
In the digital printing system business, the first field testing of the Impremia NS40 40-inch nanographic printing® system beta machine is scheduled to begin in spring 2019 in Japan, and a similar plan later for overseas is planned.
In the security printing press business, in May 2018 the Komori Currency NV32 Combination Multiprocess Numbering and Varnishing Press for banknote printing was awarded the 2018 Excellence in Currency Technical Award by the International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA). We are continuing to develop printing systems with new technologies for productivity improvement and counterfeiting prevention.
In the future, particularly in the digital printing system and PE (printed electronics) businesses, we will get on the growth path by making use of Komori's core technologies. Further, we plan to have close relationships with customers and further strengthen our services by developing and evolving KP-Connect.
Komori will engage vigorously in new technology development on the strength of the "monozukuri culture" that we have built up to now. Based on our management philosophy of becoming a customer Kando company, we will make every effort to deliver Kando -- Customer Satisfaction Beyond Expectations -- throughout the world.
Komori will make every effort to meet your expectations.
